Welcome to OUDL

    The Osmania University Library has a rich Collection of Valuable books, Manuscripts, Theses and Dissertations. It is the Primary responsibility of the University Library to protect those heritage documents for posterity and provide wider access to the readers and scholars.

    Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Pittsburgh, USA has conceived the University Digital Library (UDL) project to provide free access to all human knowledge primarily in the English Language to everyone over the Internet. All the books at the University Library which are out of copyright act are being Scanned / Digitized.

    International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) at Hyderabad sponsored by CMU has established a Mega Scanning Centre. It has entered a MOU with Osmania University to undertake digitization of books and documents. Universal Digital Library Scanning Centre (UDLSC) at O.U. Library was established in 2004. Till now about 37048 books have been digitized. The digitized books can be accessed here.
